VJ - cute story about your Daddy!!!

Abby took the invitations for her birthday party to school today. I really struggle with whether to invite everyone (or at least all of the girls) in the class or not. I feel terrible leaving some people out but if Abby really does not want someone at her party (eg. she says one of the girls in the class hurts people) should I respect her wishes or force her to include everyone. What are your thoughts? How do you handle invites?

Looks like I am falling behind by a week - I will make sure to get up until the end of February out this week and the first week of March done by Monday!

I have been busy painting and wallpapering my bedroom. I just have to stain a few pieces of furniture and then I will post my before and after shots.

Abby started her horseback riding lessons on Sunday and she loved it .... except for the being allergic and getting hives part :( I was hoping that her pet allergies would not extend to horses but unfortunately they did. The poor little girl wants to be a vet when she grows up!

Joshie saw a cardinal in the backyard this morning and referred to it as the red bird with the mohawk:)

My kids love watching the show Storage Wars ... kind of strange for kids to like it but they do and I actually think there is more to learn from it then most of the kids shows. The only thing I don't like about it is the commericals which are obviously not aimed at children .... for instance ... upcoming previews of the show Hoarders. I had a lot of explaining to do when they saw the advertisement for that show! (they only saw the commercial not the show)

On Christmas when Abby was opening up her presents she told us that she wanted to keep the boxes. Now I know that it was because she wanted to cut out the pictures and make crafts with them but apparently Josh did not realize this and said to Abby in a very concerned tone:

"Abby - you are going to become a hoarder"

I laughed my head off ... until the other night when I went upstairs and saw Abby in her bed like this:

I think Joshie might be right! There was barely enough room for her to sleep lol!

This is a picture of the kitchen cart I found last week at Bowring. It was on sale from $400 to $75 clearance because it was a little marked up and the door was off (all of which I can fix). It even has a granite top - what a steal!! We needed more cupboard space in our kitchen and this was just the right size!

Isn't that cute? He isn't the best skater but Brent has taken them out a few times lately to practice and he has definitely gotten better. I am going to try really hard for him to skate in my sleep tonight :)

It was hard for me to pick which picture I like best from this week but here are 3 of my favourites:)

The kids love downhill skiing! This was taken after a long day at Chicopee in Kitchener.

The kids drawing names (their idea) to see who got to sleep in "Daddy's spot" while he was away on a work trip. I should have snuck a blank piece of paper in there and rigged it so I could have had the bed to myself :)

Jessica left a comment asking this:

"I have never even heard of five pin bowling. How does it differ from ten pin bowling?"

Answer: There are only 5 pins but the main thing that is great about it for kids is that the bowling balls are WAY smaller and lighter. Brent prefers 10 pin (I am not good at either) but we do the 5 pin so that Abby can actually pick up the ball!

I just googled 5 pin bowling and read that it was invented in Canada and according to wiki is only played in Canada .... I did not know that!

I saw this little bunny today standing in my backyard. Standing ... on his hind legs. At first I thought it was adorable and grabbed my camera to take pictures (kind of a different picture of the day) but then it just continued to stand there staring. I must admit that cute bunny started to creep me out a bit ... I am sure he felt the same way about me ... I looked away first lol!

This is my favourite picture from week 1!

I have the first set of quickpages for your 2012 yearbook ready! I am not going to use the date 2012 or days of the week, just numbers so that these pages can be used for your Project 365/366 any year :)

I will also be giving away the templates for those of you who prefer them over the quickpages.

I will be doing these every week (promise!) and I plan to have all of January caught up by the end of this week (quickpages and templates). Going forward I will also be making mini kits to give away and other assorted goodies :)

We barely had enough snow for one day to scrape together a snowman but the kids were able to do it! He was down to one ball by the next day because of the weather .... can't say that I am complaining lol!

I am determined to do Project 365 this year because I love the way my 2009 book turned out. I have been successful so for with my daily pictures. Is anyone else doing it? I want to stay on top of my layouts and journalling this time and so I am going to commit to doing my pages weekly. I am more than happy to share my layouts either by way of quickpages or templates - leave me a comment if you would be interested in this type of weekly freebie! I also have to plan what my next big project will here on my blog. I am certainly open to suggestions!

Nightmare Move

This move has been a complete fail so far. I guess I shouldn't say that because things seem to be going really well so far at school for the kids which is the most important part. The house we bought is in the condition of a student rental and I could go on and on about the surprises we have faced so far but I won't! I can only connect to the internet at the hotel from my iPad which is why I haven't been posting but hopefully you will see this message :) We get our phone/cable/internet connected tomorrow at the new house as well as the majority of our stuff delivered. I will post in a couple of days!

Well today is the day! We are heading to the hotel today and the kids will be starting their new school tomorrow! They are very excited ... mostly about the breakfast buffet at the hotel lol! The packers and movers are coming over the next few days and we get our house on Friday. I hope it all goes smoothly :) I am taking my computer to the hotel with me so I will be able to post and check in with all of you! I am quite sure they are going to think I am a nutcase with all of the stuff I am bringing to the hotel but I just want to make sure I have all of my most important things close to me. I guess I am a control freak!

I was leisurely making my way around Costco this morning ... touching all of the books and housewares when I got a call from the school to come and get Brady ... sore tummy. He seems to be a bit of a medical mystery as he felt hot on the inside and cold on the outside as well as a number of other bizarre symptoms ... that went away within a couple of hours of being home. It is always something isn't it?! I have decided that when we move I will give the new school a fake number :)

My 39th Birthday

I turned 39 yesterday and I am feeling way to close to 40 now for my liking lol! Please tell me that it is no big deal .... I certainly don't feel old :)

I ended up taking Abby to the doctor on Monday and she has pneumonia :( She has been on some pretty strong antibiotics since Monday and she is feeling a lot better. I think she will be able to go to school tomorrow .... I think she is getting a little bored with me lol!

Well here we are ... the fifth day of school and Abby is home sick and so am I :( She woke up with quite a fever last night and sick to her stomach. I had gone to bed early because I was not feeling well and we spent the rest of the night tossing and turning together. She seems a little bit better today but I just get so worried because of her asthma. Hopefully we won't have to take a trip to the hospital again which happened last year within two weeks of her going back to school. Maybe I should homeschool her to keep her away from all of the germs!

Hi Ladies!! I am sorry I have been so absent this summer. I have had zero down time with the kids being home and trying to get ready to move at the end of the month.

Brady, Abby and Joshua started back to school on Tuesday ... unfortunately they will be moving schools in 3 weeks:(

I am going to be returning to my regular posting and Digitreats work on Monday!
